Bread & Butter Concept
Bread and Butter is a social enterprise that trains, equips and supports community bakery businesses throughout South Africa. In a nutshell, it’s a service that helps community bakery businesses become sustainable, profitable and impactful.
Our History
The history of Bread and Butter is rooted in Siyabonga Africa, an NPO with a vision to see people free from poverty. The organisation has trained hundreds of people in how to generate income through baking. A vast network of community bakeries has been established through the organisation. These, and new, bakeries have to navigate various challenges in order to be sustainable and thrive. Bread and Butter was introduced as a means of formalising a nationwide network of community bakeries for longterm sustainability, support and growth.
